The photovoltaic tracking system built with Gokin Solar's BC high-efficiency solar modules played a part in the 'Source flame' lighting ceremony recently held for the 15th National Games and the National Games for Persons with Disabilities and Special Olympic Games, injecting innovative 'sunlight power' into this grand sports event, and demonstrating the leapfrog development of China's photovoltaic industry in technological innovation and applications.

The 'Source flame' was derived from flammable ice located 1,522 meters deep in the northern South China Sea, which is the world's first 'deep-sea flame gathering.’ Behind this breakthrough achievement is the customized photovoltaic clean energy solution of Gokin Solar, a Huadu-based enterprise: the BC high-efficiency solar module GBC-3-54HGDb, combined with the supporting photovoltaic tracking frame, converts sunlight into electricity, which is then transmitted through special cables to equipment located more than 1,500 meters below the sea surface to form a complete clean energy loop of 'light-electricity-flame', literally realizing the goal of 'drawing light from the sky to ignite flame in the sea.'

As the core component for capturing solar energy, Gokin's BC (back-contact) high-efficiency solar module features a grid-free back electrode design, which significantly enhances conversion efficiency and low-light response capacity, ensuring stable power output even in complex weather conditions. Moreover, the module's excellent low-light and shading performance ensures high power output even under partial shading conditions. And the supplementary photovoltaic tracking system enables real-time sun tracking, which greatly extends the duration of high-efficiency power generation.

The entire process, from preliminary project design, material supply, to final on-site installation, took one and a half months. The biggest challenge during the implementation stage was the strict installation window period—the research vessel would stay in port for only one day and had to set out for sea operations the next morning. To ensure operation of the system on time, the Gokin team prepared in advance, assembling the structure of the entire photovoltaic device in the factory and breaking it down as integrated assemblies. This greatly reduced on-site installation time and ultimately ensured the system's smooth deployment before the vessel went to sea.

The successful participation in the 'Source flame' gathering for the 15th National Games not only highlights the company's strategic commitment to innovation-driven development and its mission to 'support achievement of global carbon neutrality goals', which has been advanced in an approach that integrates green manufacturing, operation, products, and technology since its establishment, but also provides a replicable 'Gokin model' for future green energy supply based on offshore research and deep-sea exploration.
